Historical cabinets

Area: 128 m2

Capacity: Up to 50 guests

During  the 19th century additional constructions were added to both wings of the house  – the Historical Cabinets and one of the halls upstairs.

In recent years the Historical Cabinets served as the office for the President of the Republic of Latvia. In past centuries, some of the most prominent people in the history have visited the house.

The Black Heads used to hold meetings, do their accounting and make important decisions in the Historical Cabinets.

The interior is made up of 19th century furniture, fireplace and ceiling lights, as well as art and cultural-historical items.

Here is a contemporary silver collection of House of the Black Heads, the patronese of which is former President of Latvia Vaira Vike-Freiberga.

From September 2012 to August 2016, Black Heads was the residence of the President of Latvia, while the Historical Cabinets were the office of the President.

Nowadays, these rooms have been rebuilt using pre-war photos as reference.
